Silymarin
Silymarin inhibits lipid peroxidation inside the sebaceous gland, stopping the oxidative chain reaction where excess skin oil reacts with UV and pollution to trigger acne and inflammation. It simultaneously downregulates pro-inflammatory cytokines and activates the Nrf2 antioxidant pathway, switching on the skin's own internal defence system against environmental damage.
Result: Less oil oxidation, calmer skin, and fewer breakouts.
3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C)
Ethyl Ascorbic Acid targets melanin production through three independent molecular pathways — inhibiting tyrosinase by deactivating its copper centre, downregulating MITF to interrupt melanin gene expression upstream, and activating autophagy to degrade melanin granules already formed. It also neutralises reactive oxygen species through the Nrf2 antioxidant pathway.
Result: Dark spot prevention, existing pigmentation fading, and antioxidant protection.
Ferulic Acid
Ferulic Acid stabilises Ethyl Ascorbic Acid by protecting it from oxidation, significantly amplifying its potency and longevity. It independently activates the Nrf2/ARE pathway, upregulating superoxide dismutase and catalase, and inhibits the COX-2 inflammatory pathway to reduce inflammation-driven pigmentation.
Result: Enhanced antioxidant activity and stronger protection against the triggers.
Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate
Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate competitively inhibits tyrosinase from a second independent pathway alongside Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, creating dual tyrosinase inhibition in this formula. It simultaneously inhibits 5α-reductase to reduce androgen-mediated sebaceous gland overactivity and reduces interleukin-1α to calm reactive inflamed skin.
Result: Normalised sebum production, reduced pigmentation, and anti-inflammatory support.
Capryloyl Salicylic Acid (LHA)
Capryloyl Salicylic Acid is a lipophilic Salicylic Acid derivative that penetrates directly through sebum into the follicle, dissolving the intercellular lipid bonds that hold dead skin cells together inside the pore. It penetrates five times more slowly than regular Salicylic Acid, delivering precise keratolysis deep inside the pilosebaceous unit without disrupting surrounding skin or triggering post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in reactive Pakistani skin.
Result: Clearer pores, smoother texture, and gentler exfoliation that does not compromise the skin barrier.
